Everyone knows about the E. coli problem and that it is worldwide. It is responsible for the death of many people and it seems to be getting worse!

The E. coli is a common bacteria on this planet. It is found in the lower intestine of warm blooded mammals, such as humans and animals. Most of the strains are harmless but there is a strain of serotypes that can cause serious food poisoning. E. coli provide vitamin K2 and prevent bad bacteria from growing in the intestine. This bacteria is expelled into the environment in fecal matter from animals and humans.

The E. coli bacteria can survive under a number of conditions and substances. It can live for over three days outside of the intestine. The bacteria is also host specific most of the time. This means it can be traced to what species it came from. Virulent strains can cause urinary tract infections, neonatal meningitis, Crohn’s disease, and many others. These Virulent strains are also expelled with fecal matter into the environment.
To date no solution has been put forward for this growing food poisoning problem that is worldwide. I propose the following solution based on the following problem. My analysis shows that as the population increases so does this problem. It is directly related to the amount of fecal matter was expelled into the environment by animals and humans. Animal populations have increased in parallel with human populations since they are in the source of our food. So the increase of E coli into the environment is double the population growth.

The obvious conclusion is that the human fecal matter and the animal fecal matter is not being processed in a substantial way with our current system. For human fecal matter the system that is used across the planet is the septic system for private residences outside of cities. City waste is processed in a similar fashion that is usually open air. Most domestic animal fecal matter is recycled for fertilizer. But keep in mind that animal urine is Not recycled but goes into the ground water, with their E coli.

A well designed septic system can last for decades or fail in a few years. There are all types of stuff that people put down the drain that break septic systems. When this happens, human E. coli gets into the water table. Humans are the most complex animal on the planet and it is highly probable that human E, coli is responsible for the problem.

The current systems of processing fecal matter have worked for years, but the human population has grown to a point where these systems will no longer suffice. What is needed is a new type of system where gray water and black water are not combined as they currently are, in the residential and commercial buildings. Gray water is the baths, sinks, and washing machine water and is not dirty at all. Black water is the toilet water. Combining them produces four times more black water!

Gray water can be filtered and put back into the ground with no processing. A simple Federal law could require all soaps to be biodegradable. The black water must be processed more thoroughly or this E. coli problem and others will become an unmanageable problem.
